How To: Rock A Long Sweater

Lots of stores have recently been selling some amazing long sweaters but a major problem is the unanswered question of, what do you wear them with?

Here is my answer...

- Since the length adds a lot of extra pattern I would keep the pieces paired with the sweater simple.
In the picture below, I wore black leggings with a tank top just to keep it sleek and let the sweater stand out. I paired this outfit with short black booties with cream colored fur inside.

- In order to step up your winter wardrobe try a long sweater. Some people think that these are only for really tall people but they can look great on everyone! ***Make sure you are smart about what you pair your long sweater with!*** Ideas to follow.

  • Skinny jeans
  • Leggings
  • Cords
  • Loose V Neck Tees
  • Tank Tops
A navy tight tank, black leggings, Free People Long Sweater, Steve Madden booties

Internet Surfing: Shopping Edition

Guide to Online Shopping

I always feel the need to find clothing that everyone else in my grade won't have. Everyone in my school shops at the same few stores for example, Urban Outfitters. In order to avoid wearing the same clothes as everyone else I have found some great websites to help diversify my closet from what a typical High School girl's closet is like. A great hint for finding something "different" is to enter a keyword of an item you are looking for in google and then click on the sites to follow, hopefully there will be some good results.

Here are two of my favorite sites for online shopping...

Necessary Clothing: This is a New York store with the cutest clothes at the BEST prices. I love almost everything on their site. They keep their clothes updated and have a wide variety of styles to choose from. Their clothes are well made and well priced.

Tobi: This is an online site with amazing clothing. They have so much to offer and are always getting in new items! Their clothes are so cute! A lot of the things they sell are popular but there are always those "hidden gems" which are a great find. I love their sweaters and have bought a bunch of their crop tops!

Winter Essentials Part 2

Get wild with your lip color!

Last weekend I decided to be daring and I bought the "Black Dahlia Lip Tar" from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. Ever since then I have been completely obsessed. I think it makes a pretty bold statement and it is definitely not an everyday color. I wore it with a black skater skirt and grey shirt with the patent black docs (featured in the Winter Essentials Part 1 post) in order to create an edgy look. I think that warm colored lips for fall and even into winter are going to be a really big hit! This is perfect for a weekend party or even just hanging out with friends.

Go for the metallic tint...

Winter Essentials Part 1

The key to completing an outfit is the proper footwear. You never want to find yourself stuck in a situation where you have an amazing outfit planned but no shoes to match it. This problem is especially challenging during the winter because throwing on a pair sandals is no longer an option.

Here is my guide for the best winter boots...

1. Sassy Studs
These boots have a combination of gold and silver studding, which makes it easier to mix and match jewelry in order to coordinate with your outfit. Made by Steve Madden, these boots can take a killer outfit to a whole new level. The studded look might be a step outside your comfort zone but from my experience with great risks come even better results.

2. Love Doctor

Dr. Marten boots come in almost every color you can imagine. I own the black patent pair (pictured) and the matte green color as well. They are not only stylish but also very comfortable! Everyone in my school has become obsessed with this look. Docs are perfect for winter with leggings or jeans. They make a statement but are not too "out there." Create a better version of yourself by trying something new, Docs can be your first step out of "the box."

3. Buckle Up

Nothing beats a chocolate colored pair of buckle boots. These give a cowboy kind of flare with a trendy touch. These Jeffrey Campbell boots are perfect for school! There are many styles similar to these boots that are just as awesome. Boots with buckles add style to a regular riding boot and are more refined than a studded boot. If you find yourself wanting to play it safe but still wow your classmates definitely check out boots like these! I also attached an image of a Steve Madden tall boot similar to the short version.
